The steel industry logo just to the left, was first used on a Tonka truck in 1967 and on selected trucks through 1972. The where used list looks something like this: 1967 model #935 and 1968 through 1972 model #2935 Mighty Scraper; 1968 through 1972 model #3990 Mighty Car Carrier and the 1971 through 1972 model #3902 Mighty Hydraulic Dump. |

Continuing forward in 1967 were model #2900 Mighty Dump, model #2940 Mighty Crane and model #3940 Mighty Shovel. Deleted for 1967 was model #2905 Mighty Clam. New models added in 1967 were the #2920 Mighty Loader, #2935 Mighty Scraper and #2990 Mighty Car Carrier.
CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR: The most visible change to the 1967 Mighty trucks are the new cab decals. Only the newly arrived model #2990 Car Carrier tractor carried over the 1966 cab side decals.
CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR: A new blow molded plastic "Mighty Balloon" tire was introduced on the #2920 Mighty Loader and the #2935 Mighty Scraper.
CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR: Model #2940 Mighty Mobile Crane changed its name to just Mighty Crane.
CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR: The 1967 Tonka logo decal replaced the yellow and black decal of 1966.
CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR: In a licensing agreement with the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), a new decal representing the steel industry was first used on the bowl of the Mighty Scraper in 1967 and then on selected models through 1972, when the agreement expired. The water cooler scuttlebutt that Tonka "borrowed" the logo from football's Pittsburgh Steelers is all wrong.
